Adventure AWAITS!

Today was such an awesome day!
James came over around 12 pm. We drove over to Alhambra for the sole purpose of having Coldstone ice cream, my first evah! I had a "Like it" Chocolate with Kit-Kat pieces. It was DELICIOUS! We were going to head back, but I pointed out that I've never seen or been past the block we were in. So we headed up the street, and...

First: Into a Halloween Store, where we discovered a sexy dude working there. Well, I discovered, really. He didn't seem too interested in me, so we moved on to the other side of the street. (I then decided to show some cleavage, but I didn't want to go back into the store. His loss. :P )

Second: We killed time in Ross in the bottom floor. I grabbed a scarf that I really liked and wore it throughout the store. We commented and laughed about furniture and baby baskets and food trolleys. We were mostly into the pieces of furniture and plastic chests. Oh. And about 4 shelves of Buddha pieces.

Third: Seeing as it was Labor Day, a fair amount of stores were closed. I didn't want to go home just yet, since it was only 3 pm. I spotted an open store and bolted in, not even taking a glimpse of what type of store it was. Well, it wasn't a store. It was an art gallery. We spent the better half of 2 hours looking at art and skimming art prints, books, shirts and collectible dolls. I found a new love for art and took a bunch of pretty flyers.

Fourth: We crossed the street. Aching feet. Wanting to quench our thirst and our feet with some relaxation and coffee from a nearby Starbucks. Just as we began walking on the other side of the street, a man walks in front of us. We sniffed. Our nostrils filled with his enticing musk. So. Naturally. We followed him. Then we lost sight of him. His smell however, was enchanting and longing.

Fifth: Despite enchanting smells, we started to get pretty hungry. I was invited to my best friend's BBQ the same morning (think, 3 am) so I skipped a Subway meal and just snagged a soda to hold me over. We sat in our high chairs and talked about touchy issues, all the while, he devours his sammich. Tummy filled. Let's head out!

Sixth: Our feet. No longer hurting, he recollects an anime store. I recall a comic store we passed in the second block and his memory is jogged. So we head out to the very geeky Comic store, where our first step, we, well, stepped along side a geeky conversation about Topher Grace in his role in some Spiderman movie. We happily ignored said conversation. We set out to find the Scarecrow and his origins. Not wanting to disrupt super geekiness in progress, we indulge some time into the store, searching high and low, mainly low, to find some sort of encyclopedia of superheros and super-not-heroes, also known as, villains! We find him, and to my dismay...it was rather lengthy. Not worth my time, so I turn to the erotic hentai on the wall. Quite boring, though colorful. Bah. (Just kidding, I do love the large boobies)

So we move on. We briefly enter a book store. I quickly glance at some Scott Pilgrim mangas, and nothing more. Continue moving on.
We took our bus to Atlantic Square. We arrived at 5:38. Darn. We missed our bus. I called my BF to give him the heads up that I was to arrive home pretty soon. He said, "No ride, homey". Darn.
I pat myself down. Wait. How am I going to get home without a key? Oh well, my brother should be home...right?
Wrong.
Well, let's wait for the bus anyway, and I'll take the long way home. But we still had an hour to kill, so we headed off to...

Eighth: Blockbuster. Going back and forth about actors, actresses, bad movies, great movies, trying to eff en' find the foreign section, which turns out to be the "international" section, and threatening each other to watch certain movies. Typical of James and I.

Back to the bus stop. We sat at 6:30.
We still sat at 6:40.
And continued to sit at 6:50.

"Um...I don't think this bus is coming...at all."
I'd rather be home at night time than to be far from home at night time, so we started to walk alongside our community college.

Uh oh...There's no sidewalk in the next light...
"come on, you won't get ran over!"
"easy for you to say!", replies James.
"Well, lucky for us, it's still light out. Let's just go through the college and make a round about the building. There's no sidewalk for this light only."

Ninth: We journeyed up the walkway, not realizing or rather, forgetting it was a holiday. Therefore, no school. No students. No staff. Empty.

"Wow. It's pretty lonely...and creepy."
"Yeah, well, stop looking at the construction site."
"Do you know where you're going?"
"Of course I do!", I exclaimed, " I've been here plenty of times! It's almost impossible for me to get lost. Its just up these stairs to the left."
We walk upstairs.
"You mean the exit here that's blocked off?", James dully remarked.
"Uh, yeah...that one...No matter! We can just go around this construction site. There should be an exit either by the stadium or the parking lot.", I assured him. After all, it's only a community college. It's not that hard to get lost in.

We crossed a long pathway, buildings on each side.
"Oh! What a relief! There's lights on! Someone must be here!" He pointed to a lit window.
"I'll take a look!"...."on second thought...maybe not..."
He scoffs.

"Look, this building is lit. I'll check if it's open."
I tug. Heavy door? I pull.
"It's obviously locked!"
"Maybe it was a heavy door," I grunted, "you never know."
...We walked....
"Heh, if I was in a horror movie, I'd be the first girl to die. I'd be like, "oh! Let's check out this scary looking building! then, BAM! I get killed. Curious chicks always die first."
He said he'd run. Ain't no way he was going to call for help. He'd just run and wouldn't stop running. I quietly agreed.

It was official. We were in our own horror movie.
Maybe it was the quiet chill that harbored over us.
The gentle rustling of the trees around us.
The pipes that hissed softly.
The sun that was setting.
Things were getting, uneasy. Was there really an exit for us waiting around the bend?

We couldn't help but keep looking back. Things were getting creepy, and fast.
Too bad it didn't last too long. We found the exit.
yay! We were joyous. For we were alive.
Then a security cart passed by us.
No matter. He paid us no real attention. Just waved at us and went on his merry way. Perhaps he was the murderer fleeing a scene? The college seemed all too eerie. Perfect for a murder. Too bad we didn't witness it. We were too tired anyway.

We stopped by the little plaza as James awaited his ride home.
I walked on home, stopping briefly to say Hello to Ivan.
Came home. Awaited Karina. Sat and ate my yummy bread sticks and ended the perfect adventure with some TV. House and Lie To Me. What a day!
